Ingenieur:

The Ingenieur lineup is full of versatile pieces that exhibit a sporty essence paired with undeniable functionality. The pieces in this lineup are more robust in comparison to the other IWC offerings, having upstanding durability and an increased water resistance rating of 12 bar (120 meters). While the pieces in the Ingenieur lineup are functional, the offerings are rather limited with only a handful of variants in comparison to the flagship IWC models.

Automatic (3 Offerings):

The Ingenieur Automatic is a time/date only watch with all time on center, and a date display shown at the 3 O’clock location. The Calibre 35111 on this watch features a 42 hour power reserve and is not visible due to the solid metal case back. This piece is offered in 18K gold on a leather strap and stainless steel on either a metal band or a leather strap. These pieces start at $4950 for the steel variant and top off at $13600 for the 18K gold variant.

Chronograph (3 Offerings):

The Chronograph offering is made for, and fits true to the Engenieur lineup with it’s purposeful chronograph complication and utilitarian design. Chronograph seconds are shown on center, minutes at a 12 O’clock sub-dial, and hours at a 9 O’clock sub-dial. Standard time is shown with hours and minutes on center, seconds at a 6 O’clock sub-dial, and a date display at the 3 O’clock indicator. The Calibre 69375 features a 46 hour power reserve and is visible through the sapphire display back case. This offering comes in both 18K gold and stainless steel with prices ranging from $7950 to upwards of $18200 for the 18K gold variant.

Perpetual Calendar (1 Offering):

The last offering and a bit of a stand alone offering in the Engenieur lineup is the Perpetual Calendar. This style of perpetual calendar is rather unique in comparison the other offerings from IWC, this is thanks to the dual register month and date displays. With regards to the perpetual calendar complication, month is shown at the 3 O’clock sub-dial (dual register display), date is shown at the 9 O’clock sub-dial (dual register display), and leap year display is shown in the 6 O’clock sub-dial. In addition this piece features a chronograph complication which has seconds on center with minutes and hours combined in the 12 O’clock totalizer sub-dial. Standard time is shown with hours and minutes on center and seconds in a small sub-dial at the 6 O’clock location. Last and maybe most notable this piece features a sapphire display back case, is offered in 18K gold, and is limited to 100 pieces all for a price of $46300.

Aquatimer:

The IWC Aquatimer collection is one of the more robust and functional collections from IWC. The Aquatimer’s are pieces dedicated to the dive watch spirit; featuring large dials, legible indices, plenty of lume, screw down crowns, and a uni-directional rotating bezels. This category has very minimal sub-models only having an Automatic and a Chronograph offering, each having their own colorway options.

Automatic (4 Offerings):

The Aquatimer Automatic is a time/date only offering having various color options and is offered in a stainless steel case only. These pieces feature all time on center and a date display at the 3 O’clock position. As with all dive watches, a uni-directional bezel is standard hardware; however the bezel on this piece rotates internal of the sapphire glass and is controlled by the crown at the 9 O’clock position, a unique offering in its category. Majority of the pieces in the Automatic lineup use the Calibre 30120 featuring a 42 hour power reserve which is hidden due to a metal case back. The stand alone offering in this category is the 100 piece limited “boesch” special edition which uses the Calibre 82110 featuring a 60 hour power reserve and a display back sapphire case. The Aquatimer Automatic lineup starts at a reasonable $5400 and tops off at $11300 for the special edition mentioned above.

Chronograph (6 Offerings):

The second and final offering in the Aquatimer category is the Aquatimer Chronograph. These pieces veer a bit from the traditional dive watch, losing some legibility with the addition of the chronograph function. However, that aside this category sees two different styles of Chronograph offerings, that which uses the Calibre 79320 and the other which uses the Calibre 89365. The pieces that utilize the Calibre 79320 have a power reserve of 44 hours and have chronograph time with seconds on center, minutes at the 12 O’clock sub-dial, hours at the 6 O’clock sub-dial, and standard time shown on center having small seconds at the 9 O’clock sub-dial. In addition this movement has a date/day display at the 3 O’clock location. The other option, the Calibre 89365 has a power reserve of 68 hours and has chronograph time with second on center, minutes to 60 at the 12 O’clock sub-dial, and standard time on center with small seconds at the 6 O’clock sub-dial. This movement features a date only indication at the 3 O’clock location. The Chronograph pieces in this lineup are offered in both stainless steel and bronze between a price range of $6850 and $11700.
